I decided to write this book soon after I came across felting. I saw amazing felt being worn but not flattering the wearer. With over 35 years teaching sewing and pattern making I decided that there was a need for a book where you can make a vest to fit and flatter your body.
I joined the Victorian Feltmakers where I soon became aware that there are so many talented artists who make the most amazing felt but do not know how to turn it into a garment that will fit and flatter their figure, especially the larger or mature figure.
With all my experience in sewing, pattern making fitting and felting, and having written several books on these topics in the 80s and 90's, it was just a matter of time before I felt the need to write a book on felting clothes to fit and flatter.
I started experimenting with different ways of felting vests. My plan was to work out different methods for creating styles for people who have never done any pattern making or sewing but love felting and would love to make clothes.
The result is my book Felted Vests. This book will be available for sale in about three weeks time.
